Legal Bases for Processing Personal Information
We only process your personal information where applicable law permits or requires it, including as set forth below.
Consent. You have consented to the use of your personal information.
Contractual Necessity. We may process your personal information where it is necessary for the performance of a contract, for example where we need to decide whether to enter into a contract of employment with you.
Compliance with a Legal Obligation. We have a legal obligation to use your personal information. For example, we may process your personal information to comply with tax, employment and accounting obligations.
Legitimate Interests. We or a third party have a legitimate interest in using your personal information. For example, we have a legitimate interest in using your personal information to improve the safety, security, and performance of our Website, to assess applications, to decide whether to appoint you to a role, and to manage, analyse, and improve our Recruitment Process. We only rely on our or a third party’s legitimate interests to process your personal information when these interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.
Where we process sensitive personal information (for example, for diversity monitoring or to make reasonable adjustments during the Recruitment Process), we do so on the basis of an additional condition under Article 9 UK GDPR and Schedule 1 to the Data Protection Act 2018, such as your explicit consent or our employment-related obligations.
Use of Artificial Intelligence in Recruitment
We may use AI tools, systems, and services to support and improve the efficiency of our Recruitment Process. Depending on the stage of the Recruitment Process, we may use AI to:
- Analyse aggregated and anonymised information about candidates and our recruitment pipeline in order to understand and improve its efficiency;
- Process information about individual candidates, which may include names, contact details and interviewer feedback, in order to organise and progress applications;
- Prepare analyses of, and suggestions about, our Recruitment Process and how it may be made more efficient;
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as scheduling interviews and issuing invitations; and
- Support or assist with interviews.
The specific ways in which we use AI may change over time as our tools develop. We will update this Privacy Policy where required to reflect material changes. A member of our team remains involved in, and responsible for, decisions about your application, and reviews and has discretion over any output generated by our AI tools before it is acted upon. We do not use special category data (such as information about your health, racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs or sexual orientation) for AI-assisted decision making.
Automated Decision-Making
Automated decision-making is the process of making decisions by automated means with or without any human involvement. We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that would have legal, or similarly significant, effects for you.
How We Disclose the Personal Information We Collect
We may share your personal information with third parties in the following circumstances:
Affiliates. We may disclose any personal information we receive with our current or future affiliates for any of the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
Vendors and Service Providers. We may disclose any personal information we receive to vendors and service providers who process personal information on our behalf in connection with the provision of our Website and the Recruitment Process.
Recruitment Sources and Advisers. We may disclose personal information to recruitment agencies and search firms involved in your application, to referees you have nominated, and to our professional advisers, including lawyers, accountants and auditors, where necessary.
As Required By Law and Similar Disclosures. We may access, preserve, and disclose your personal information if we believe doing so is required or appropriate to: (a) comply with law enforcement requests and legal process, such as a court order; (b) respond to your requests; or (c) protect your, our, or others’ rights, property, or safety.
Merger, Sale, or Other Asset Transfers. We may transfer your personal information to service providers, advisors, potential transactional partners, or other third parties in connection with the consideration, negotiation, or completion of a corporate transaction in which we are acquired by or merged with another company or we sell, liquidate, or transfer all or a portion of our assets. The use of your personal information following any of these events will be governed by the provisions of this Privacy Policy in effect at the time the applicable personal information was collected.
Consent. We may also disclose your personal information with your permission.
Your Rights and Choices
Depending on the applicable law, in particular if you are located in the UK, you may have the right to request access to, a copy of, correction, and erasure of the personal information that we hold about you, or object to the processing of your personal information under certain circumstances. You may also have the right to request that we transfer your personal information to another party or restrict the processing of your personal information. In addition, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (https://ico.org.uk/).
Where you have provided your consent to the collection, processing, or transfer of your personal information, you may have the legal right to withdraw your consent under certain circumstances. Withdrawing your consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
If you wish to exercise any of these rights, please contact us at privacy@inherentlaboratories.com. When processing your request, we may ask you to provide us with reasonable information to help us confirm your identity.
Please note that these rights may be limited in some circumstances by local law. Also, we may need to retain certain information for recordkeeping or legal compliance purposes or to continue to perform our obligations under the employment relationship.

Retention
Except as otherwise permitted or required by applicable law, we will only retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes we collected it for, as required to satisfy any legal, accounting, or reporting obligations, or as necessary to resolve disputes. To determine the appropriate retention period for personal information, we consider our statutory obligations, the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal information, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of your personal information, the purposes we process your personal information for, and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means.
Under some circumstances we may anonymize your personal information so that it can no longer be associated with you. We reserve the right to use such anonymous and de-identified data for any legitimate business purpose without further notice to you or your consent.
Security
We have implemented appropriate physical, technical, and organizational security measures designed to secure your personal information against accidental loss and unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure.
Children’s Privacy
We do not knowingly collect, maintain, or use personal information from children under 13 years of age, and no part of our Website is directed to children. If you learn that a child has provided us with personal information in violation of this Privacy Policy, then you may alert us at privacy@inherentlaboratories.com.
International Transfers
Where permitted by applicable law, we may transfer the personal information we collect about you to other jurisdictions that may not be deemed to provide the same level of data protection as your home country.
If you are located in the UK, we may transfer your personal information to countries that have not been found by the UK government to provide adequate protection. Where such transfers occur, we will implement appropriate arrangements (e.g., standard data protection clauses) to secure the transfer of your personal information to the United States, Israel and other jurisdictions. You may contact us as specified below to obtain further details about how we transfer your personal information outside the UK.
